Pat Robertson Wonders if Justice Kennedy Has Clerks Who ‘Happen to Be Gays’
Searching for an explanation for the Supreme Court’s decision on Wednesday to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), televangelist Pat Robertson wondered aloud if Justice Anthony Kennedy may have been influenced by people on his staff who “happen to be gays.”
Kennedy wrote the majority opinion to strike down DOMA, the 1996 law that denied federal benefits to same-sex couples. On Thursday’s edition of “The 700 Club,” Robertson didn’t waste any time asking Jay Sekulow of the conservative American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) to explain Kennedy’s motives.
